Official Rules Clarifications

General

Removing Push Tokens

Whenever an effect instructs a player to remove 1 Push Token, remove only one point of Push. A Push token showing a value of 2 counts as two Push Tokens.

Respawning

Lucius respawns in whichever form he occupied immediately before being KO’d. Olivia keeps any stored Push tokens when she respawns.

Tokens (e.g. Zombies, Spike Trap, Arrows, etc.) that belong to a character that respawns remain on the board when they respawn.

Hilda

Spotlight

The movement performed during edge recovery cannot be prevented or reduced by any effect, including Spotlight.

Exit Stage Left

If there is no legal space for Hilda to return to with Exit Stage Left, she remains in her current space. She does not leave the arena.

Sabo

Spike Trap Limit

Sabo may have only one Spike Trap in play at a time.

Lord Grym

Zombie Chains

When resolving attacks that chain between Zombies, the chain immediately ends once the attack’s remaining Force becomes 0 or less.

Olivia

Ultimate Push Direction

When resolving Olivia’s Ultimate, determine the direction of Push from the Strike that generated the Push (the direction of the Push token removed from Olivia that caused the Strike), not from Olivia’s current facing.

Solo AI

If Olivia has no higher-priority action available, she should retain two Push tokens (or one if that is all she has).

Orion

Multiple Arrows

If multiple Arrows occupy the same space and point in different directions, determine the Push direction by majority. If there is no majority, no Push occurs.

Are Arrows Foes?

Arrows are not considered foes except while resolving one of their own Strikes.

Solo Play

KO Priority

Whenever Solo priorities instruct a CPU to choose a foe it can Fatigue, first choose a foe it can immediately KO, if one exists. For the purposes of this priority, successfully KO’ing a Legend counts as Fatiguing that Legend.

Defensive Priorities

Whenever a Solo instruction tells a CPU to avoid being hit, interpret that priority in the following order:

  • Avoid being KO’d.
  • Avoid being Fatigued.
  • Avoid being hit.

Chaotic Colosseum Expansion

Summoning Stones

Randomly selected cards must still satisfy all card selection rules for the summoned Legend. For example, Tikkit must always play exactly one Edit card.

If the summoned Legend must choose a card (such as for Quick Fix), randomly select from eligible Basic and Special cards that have not already been selected during that Sequence.

A summoned Legend’s Special cards are never discarded and are always available.

Push Cart

If multiple teams reach the finish simultaneously, break ties by the number of Exchanges required to reach the end. If teams remain tied, the game ends in a tie.

Hammer

Special and Ultimate cards already selected for the current Sequence still resolve normally.

2v2v2

Final tiebreaker

As in free-for-all there is another winning tiebreaker, checked before the other tiebreakers: compare the total number of KOs scored during the final exchange; the team with more KOs wins.

Targeting tiebreaker

Use the free-for-all tiebreakers (closest, lowest Fatigue, slowest) when determining which foe to target.

Official Errata

These corrections affect gameplay and should be considered official.

Orion

Arrow Activation

An Arrow activates only when:

  • Orion pushes a Legend into it.
  • One of Orion’s allies pushes a Legend into it.
  • The Arrow itself moves onto a Legend.

Other movement does not activate an Arrow.

Solo

“Fatigue”

Whenever a Solo instruction says: “Fatigue” it should instead read: “Fatigue a Legend.”.

This prevents effects from incorrectly targeting Zombies (or future non-Legend objects).

Printing Notes

These are known issues in the current printing that do not meaningfully affect gameplay.

Base Game

Lord Grym Reminder Card

The icon order for Fly Fodder is incorrect.

Silver Bullet

The Turn icon is missing from the card.

Silver Bullet Reference Card

The Turn icon is also missing from the reference card.

Chaotic Colosseum Expansion

Ball Rules

The wording implies the Ball must land exactly on an edge. It should instead refer to being pushed onto or past an edge.

Component Count

The component list incorrectly states there are 8 tokens.
